Donating has never been so rewarding!

For almost 40 years, the Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center has been providing programs and services to hundreds of clients annually.  Our mission is to improve the emotional and physical health of individuals through the therapeutic use of horses, and to serve as an international training ground and education center for therapeutic riding techniques and instruction.

As a nonprofit organization, the Cheff Center relies on financial donations and in-kind contributions to support our programs.  Our students require financial support to participate in our program. Although we ask a fee, it doesn’t cover our costs.

Adopt-a-Rider Scholarship Program

Through our Adopt-a-Rider scholarship program, students who would not be able to participate due to financial reasons now can thanks to our donors!  Donors can sponsor one or more clients per semester, per year, or forever through multiple giving options.

Annual Fund, Memorials, and In-kind Donations

Additionally, the Cheff Center relies on annual, memorial, and in-kind gifts to support our programs and needs for the organization. Donors can give in memory of a loved one, donate equipment to support the program including tack, horses, and tractors, or give directly to our annual campaign.

In addition to contributing financial and in-kind donations, individuals and corporations can volunteer their time.

Planned Giving

Another way to support the long-term future of our organization is to give a planned gift.  By calling Tara East, executive director, at 269-731-4471 EXT. 112, we can discuss the many ways donors can create a legacy at the Cheff Center.

Multiply your gift

Check with your company or organization to see if they have a matching gift program. Your human resource or personnel department will be able to provide information.

Help support the Cheff Center just by shopping!

Cheff participates in both Country Care program and the Hardings eScrip program. Shop at Country Supply and they will donate a percentage of your purchases to Cheff. Simply enter our Care Code: CHEFF when you complete your order. Harding's will contribute up to 4 percent of your purchases if you'll participate in their eScrip program.

Help us help our community

Since 1970, the Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center has been operating without the aid of government funds. Instead, the investment income from the Cheff Foundation and the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations has kept this national riding therapy program viable.

The program is growing, and so are the needs. More scholarship funds are needed to allow new students to ride at little or no cost. Additional funding is needed to counter skyrocketing horse care, equipment, transportation, and insurance costs.

For more information about our programs and how you can help, please call Tara East, executive director at 269-731-4471.  If you would like to send a tax-deductible contribution to the Cheff Center, please use the address below. Thanks to you we are making a difference in the lives of our disabled and at-risk loved ones in West Michigan!

What people are saying:
What an answer to a prayer! It brought tears to my eyes to see the kids with huge smiles on their faces while riding on the horses. They had come to a place where they could be themselves without the fear of being made fun of. A place where they fit in, could have fun, and be successful at something... It was the most wonderful sight I have ever seen.
