About Us
Opened in 1970 as the first therapeutic riding center built especially for the purpose of serving those with special needs in the United States, the Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center strives to focus on what individuals can accomplish, not on what they cannot.
Today, the Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center serves riders of all ages who have physical, emotional or cognitive disabilities.
Mission Statement:
To improve the emotional and physical well-being of special needs individuals through the therapeutic use of horses, and to serve as an international training and education center for therapeutic riding programs.
Why We Do What We Do:
It works!
The market for integrative therapies has been consistently increasing in the United States over the past 10 years. This trend is supported by out of control healthcare costs, rising rates of preventable health problems, and changing national healthcare policies. Doctors, hospitals, and patients are finding that utilizing an integrative healing approach produces tangible benefits ranging from preventative care to improved therapy outcomes, to savings on the bottom line. According to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, nearly 40% of U.S. adults are currently using at least once type of Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
