Self Care Groups

Take some time for YOU and add tools to your toolbox

Self Care Groups
Next Date: TBD
$75/Participant

No experience with horses is necessary, and this group is appropriate for ages 18 and up. We will spend time working with an equine one-on one, while we explore ways to manage stress, have fun with our horses, and just for a few hours, allow ourselves to be the center of attention and focus.

Art and journaling and other creative activity options are available.  Many people choose to spend most of the time one on one with “their” horse.  Light snacks are served. While this is not a therapy group, many participants find the benefits therapeutic and helpful.  The group size is kept small so participants can have time for one on one activities with a horse.

The group is facilitated by a licensed mental health professional, equine specialists, and instructors, all certified by PATH, International.  No horse experience is necessary, but preregistration is required.  The ability to walk and stand in the barn is necessary.  Cheff recognizes that time for caregivers is at a premium, and we strongly encourage and invite you to this group of like-minded people who understand what caregiving is like—and while EVERY caregiver situation is unique, with its own set of stressors, you will find support and encouragement, without judgement, here.  Please join us.  We are happy to answer any questions about how this group may be right for you!

Women’s Groups

To support the women in our community, Cheff Center is offering equine facilitated self-care groups for women.

Horses are powerful, interesting, and intuitive, and will provide a safe space for us as women to explore our creativity, and the way we care for ourselves.

All of the work with horses will be on the ground, unmounted. No horse experience is required.  The group will be small to allow for individual time one on one with a horse, and is facilitated by a mental health professional, and certified PATH instructors.  This is a psycho educational group, where we will learn about ways to care for ourselves, and explore a variety of things with horses, including art with horses, journaling, and one on one horse activities. Each participant will have their own horse to work with for the day.

We’d love to have you join us. Facilitators include Tasha Federinko, PATH advanced instructor, and licensed professional counselor, specializing in grief loss and trauma and women’s issues. Also facilitating is Emily Fields, PATH advanced instructor, and Equine Specialist.

We will create a safe space to explore taking care of yourself. Please join us for a time of fun, learning,  and fellowship.

Please give us a call at 269-731-4471 if you’d like to be notified when we schedule our next event!
