Upcoming Events: Summer in the barn
Summer is the perfect time to spend time with horses and with our human friends as well! Cheff Center is excited to offer a psychoeducational riding/groundwork group--"Summer in the Barn", for girls ages 11-17 .
Girls in the Barn --"Summer in the Barn 2026" is the perfect opportunity for new or returning participants to spend a day in the country, away from the pressures of life ! We will be spending all our time with horses, having fun and working on very important skills… Communication, relationship building, and how to advocate for oneself while respecting other people as well.
We know that now more than ever, it is difficult for young women to communicate effectively with each other, and to even know themselves and understand how to process emotions and feelings. Working with horses is a perfect way to practice all of these skills while having fun.
Facilitated by a team that has over 30 years of experience working with both teens and horses , this one day retreat (with an option to do two days), will provide an opportunity to relax and have fun, while still working on communication skills, relationship building, and problem solving. All "Girls in the Barn" programs are based around a trauma informed model that includes creating emotional safety, self advocacy, choice and collaboration.
Group facilitation is done by certified instructors and a mental health professional who is also a certified instructor and equine specialists!
No horse experience is necessary, but pre-registration is required and new participants must complete a new student evaluation.
Dates for the program are: July 6th and July 27th from 10am-2pm
Cost is: $275/Day OR $500 for both
If you or someone you know is interested in this program, please contact Emily at 269-731-4471
