Mental Health Services

One-Time Events

To support our community, Cheff Center is periodically offering equine facilitated self-care groups focused on a variety of topics.

Upcoming Events:

Grief Goes to the Barn - Two events specifically tailored for those dealing with the loss of a [human] loved one due to death.

While the benefits of this group may be therapeutic, this is not a therapy group--. Even though it is facilitated by a licensed mental health professional. We will be learning coping strategies and signs and signals of grief and loss. We will have the opportunity to spend time one on one with the horses, to do artwork and journaling, if we choose, and to just spend time in self-care, because as we all know, grief is very hard work and anxiety can arise as well.

We recognize that it can be very challenging to pick up the phone or click on the computer link to register for a grief program. We want potential participants to know that we are delighted to answer their phone calls and questions. Grief is a group and a club that no one wants to belong to, but all of us will have to join more than once in our life. It is our goal with this program to create a safe, warm, welcoming space for participants to show up, just as they are, with no expectations to perform in any way. We want to find a safe space for clients and participants find some tools for their tool box on their healing journey.

*This is a program is appropriate for anyone over the age of 17 who is 6 months past the loss of the loved one, if this time frame is shorter please contact prior to signing up.
